It is hard not to be a fan of Porsche when this brand paying as much attention to the graphic design of their racing posters as to fine-tuning their engines. The second model, which was presented in the announcement of a new line of designer mobile phones iida from Japanese mobile operator au KDDI, has a futuristic mobile phone model iida PRISMOID, made in the clamshell form factor. iida PRISMOID, the words of the company, is the base model in the new product line, combining original, futuristic design with simplicity and minimal set of functions required the user in his daily life.

The patients of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the Evangelisches Konigin Elisabeth Krankenhaus Hospital (KEH), in Berlin, will never feel alone again. In addition to doctors and nurses the youngsters are, since October, hosted by the Princess Elise. She is the protagonist of the story told to the children and adolescents when they arrive at the Institution: when was young, Princess Elise invented her own island, with golden sand, palm trees, rocks that kiss the waves and shelters where she could rest when she needs to. Here she was always safe. Now that is a grandmother, Elise felt that no longer need to live on the island, and decided to share it with the young patients of the Hospital.

Filmmaker Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, etc.) did a Q&A session with MacWorld attendees at Moscone Center in San Francisco. He was outrageous, funny, smart, and foul-mouthed. Here is a sample that  caught on a Flip Camera from the front row.

 Ichiro Iwasaki designs Lotta, a new phone for mobile provider AU by KDDI. The phone is part of AU’s iida line of design-friendly handsets, joining previous models like Naoto Fukasawa’s PRISMOID and Hideo Kambara’s PLY. Lotta is available in three colors (yellow, white, and green).
