There is a lot of reasons why some one loves or favors a brand. But the most common reason is because we love the product, quality, price….there many other reasons, but very rarely someone can say that they love the brand because of what they do outside of their business…well to an extend. G-Star Raw is that brand for me, and don’t get me wrong, I love, no that is not the word, I obsess about their clothing line and visit their stores every time I have a chance, but what most aspiring and exciting about this brand is it’s “indirect fun branding” projects. In the course of the last few years they developed a few major projects ranging from a boat restyling and Land Rover Defender new paint and interior design to a bicycle and helmet design.

This series of photos named Silver Series was created by fashion photographer Richard Warren. He combined his interest in typeface with unlikely juxtaposition of the female form associating the beauty in one monochromatic silver experience. Painted naked female forms are as seductive as they are abstract. The use of very “man made” angular letters in combination with soft and organic human flash really accentuates the contrast. Our previous post Silver beauty comes to mind although we do not discourage anybody to try it again, only request please use another color.

Born Lisa Bernstone, this Swedish model is credited by many to be the world’s first supermodel. In the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, she was the first model that became known to public by her name. All the girls before her were just nameless beauties modeling clothes.  It’s funny how she never saw it this way and was quoted  in Times magazine interview from 1949: “It is always the dress; it is never, never the girl. I'm just a good clothes hanger." What makes the photos of her even that much more unique is that many of them were taken by Irving Penn whom she married in 1950. Carcass-like in form, each piece is hand crafted from vegetable tanned leather to mimic the color of human flash.
